Overview of the Gospels

Bible study requires effort, and the book of Hebrews is a good example!

The gospels present a unique set of difficulties in connection with Bible study. Some of these include the synoptic problem--which synoptic gospel (Matthew, Mark, Luke) was written first, and how they are related--is just one of the many. In addition we have the search for the historical Jesus, with prominence given to the Jesus Seminar. This guide will refer you to helpful resources and books related to all of those issues and more.

You should also consult the general Bible study and New Testament resources for a complete set of tools for your study of the gospels.
